TurboSFV is a tool for the calculation of checksums for files. Checksums can be saved in
a hash file, which can be later on used for the validation of checksums and thus for verifying
the file integrity.
TurboSFV supports a wide range of algorithms, such as CRC-32 and MD5 or algorithms from
the SHA-2, SHA-3, BLAKE2, BLAKE3 or the XXH family. Each of them comes with its own advantages
and disadvantages.
Checksums can be calculated for single files, a group of files, folders, folder trees or
even entire drives. They can be used to detect any change in files or folders (changed, missed
or new files), or to find files with a known checksum. The quality of storage mediums can be
monitored or checksums can just be saved for future reference.
TurboSFV is fully integrated into the Windows shell and offers shell extensions like infotip,
context menu and file property sheets with checksum calculation functionality.
Along with the GUI version, there is a command-line version, which can be called in a
console window or in batch files. Another version comes with a service module, which allows
automated observing of files and directories in the background. Another portable version
can be executed without installation. TurboSFV is available as a native 64-bit application as well
as a 32-bit variant.
